The mission of the University, as defined in the Strategy for Development of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn for 2010-2020, aims at the development of creative thinking, scientific research and teaching with respect for traditional academic values of humanism, tolerance, freedom, the search for truth and respect for ethical standards. Research of academics and students is subordinated to action for the common good, concern for the reputation of the university, to promote and perpetuate the cultural local, European and global heritage.
